Frequently asked questions
"We know many pets are stressed by car rides, busy veterinary clinics, and unfamiliar environments. That's why Niebuhr Animal Services brings low-stress pet care directly to your home. Our goal is to make routine care easier, safer, and more comfortable for both pets and their people."
Niebuhr Animal Services Policies
At Niebuhr Animal Services, the safety and well-being of your pets, our staff, and everyone involved is our highest priority. To provide the best possible service, we ask all clients to review and follow the policies below.
Honesty & Safety
Clients must provide accurate and honest information regarding their pet's behavior, medical conditions, bite history, fears, anxieties, and handling requirements.
If your pet has shown aggression, fear-based behaviors, has attempted to bite, or requires a muzzle for safe handling, this information must be disclosed before the appointment. Failure to disclose behavioral concerns may result in the appointment being stopped or future services being declined.
Safety always comes first.
Muzzles & Handling Equipment
For the safety of everyone involved, we may require a muzzle or other handling equipment during services. A muzzle requirement is not a punishment and does not mean your pet is "bad." It is simply a safety tool that allows us to work safely and with as little stress as possible.
Appointment Confirmation
Appointments must be confirmed within 24 hours of the scheduled service. Unconfirmed appointments may be canceled and the appointment slot released to other clients.
Arrival & No-Show Policy
Clients are responsible for being available at the scheduled appointment time.
If we arrive and are unable to reach the owner by phone, text, or at the door, we will wait up to 15 minutes. After 15 minutes, the appointment will be considered a no-show and we will leave.
Payment Policy
Payment is due at the time services are provided.
Payment is required for scheduled appointments regardless of whether services are successfully completed. This includes situations where:
* A pet cannot be safely handled.
* Required behavioral information was not disclosed.
* The owner chooses to stop the service.
* The pet's behavior prevents completion of the appointment.
Our time, travel, and professional expertise are reserved specifically for your appointment.
Pricing
Our pricing is straightforward and transparent.
Rates are not based on breed, size, age, appearance, or perceived difficulty of the pet. Every animal deserves the same level of care and respect.
Vaccination Requirements
Pets should be current on their rabies vaccination as required by law. Proof of rabies vaccination must be provided upon request before or during services.
We reserve the right to decline services for pets that do not meet vaccination requirements.
Humane Handling Policy
We are committed to Fear Free principles and low-stress handling techniques whenever possible.
While services are being provided, clients and family members may not:
* Hit, slap, or physically punish pets.
* Yell at pets.
* Use shock collars or other aversive training tools.
* Intentionally frighten or intimidate pets.
Any behavior that compromises the safety or welfare of the animal may result in the service being stopped immediately.
Right to Refuse Service
Niebuhr Animal Services reserves the right to refuse or discontinue services at any time if:
* A situation is deemed unsafe.
* A pet presents an unreasonable risk of injury.
* Required information was withheld.
* Clients behave in a threatening, abusive, or disrespectful manner.
Emergency Situations
In the event of an emergency involving your pet, we will make reasonable efforts to contact you immediately. If urgent veterinary care is required and you cannot be reached, we may seek veterinary assistance on your pet's behalf.
Policy Changes
These policies may be updated periodically as our business grows and evolves. The most current version will always be available on our website.
By scheduling an appointment with Niebuhr Animal Services, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to these policies.
