Niebuhr Animal Services started right here in our small community, built from a simple love of animals and a belief that they deserve gentle, thoughtful care.
We know what it’s like to share life with animals that aren’t just pets they’re part of the family, the farm, and the everyday rhythm of home. From quiet mornings with barn cats to muddy paw prints on the porch, animals are woven into the way we live.
With a background in veterinary care and Fear Free Certification since 2019, we focus on making routine pet care easier and less stressful. Whether it's a nervous senior dog, a wiggly puppy, a fractious cat, or a busy pet owner who can't make it to the clinic, we're here to bring compassionate care directly to your home.
This isn’t just a business to us. It’s part of our life here in the community. We’re grateful every time someone lets us be part of their animal’s story, and we treat every visit like it matters because it does.

Meet the team
Erica – Founder of Niebuhr Animal Services
Hi, I’m Erica, the founder of Niebuhr Animal Services — a mobile nail trimming service created with your pet’s comfort in mind. I’m a certified veterinary assistant with over 7 years of hands-on experience in small animal medicine, equine emergency care, and rehabilitation.
Throughout my career, I’ve seen how stressful simple procedures like nail trims can be for both pets and their people. That’s why I started Niebuhr Animal Services — to offer a compassionate, low-stress alternative that supports not only pet owners but also busy veterinary clinics. I’m proud to be Fear Free trained, and I take the time to work within each animal’s comfort zone to make every appointment as calm and positive as possible.
When I’m not on the road helping pets, you’ll find me with my own — from caring for our horses to training my miniature dachshund. This work is my passion, and I’m honored to bring peace of mind (and well-groomed nails!) to the animals and people I serve.
Zack – Co-Founder
As one of the co-founders of Niebuhr Animal Services, Zack brings the calm energy and steady hands behind the scenes—helping to hold and comfort pets during their nail trims. Known as the friendly face of the team, he enjoys connecting with clients and learning each pet’s unique personality.
What Zack loves most about the business is meeting a wide variety of animals and watching them grow more comfortable with each visit. For him, it’s not just a service—it’s about building trust and becoming part of the community.
Outside of work, you’ll find Zack horseback riding, hunting, or diving into all things trucks. He’s always up for a good conversation, whether it's about your pet or your favorite kind of diesel engine.
